Sometimes our emotions and hardships get the best of us. Needless to say, our struggles and doubts should be put to the side. I mean if we do not believe in ourselves just a little bit then who will? I am not saying it isn’t discouraging to feel great about succeeding in one area then failing in a new venture thereafter, but each opportunity (positive or negative) serves as a learning experience. Success is not merely measured only by the amount of times we did great in something, but rather our ability to bounce back and evolve throughout different experiences. Ever here the phrase” Fall down seven times, stand up eight”? Well, it is a mantra that should always be followed because if you prepare your mind just right, you will start believing in your own success.
We are what we perceive ourselves as. Our thoughts are so powerful that we are only as successful as we allow ourselves to think we are. Talentdevelop.com quotes a fitting phrase from James Allen’s “As a Man Thinketh” which reads: As a man thinketh in his heart so is he. A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of his thoughts.”
Successful people believe in their ideas. They believe in their products/ services. They are sure and convinced that they will obtain their goals. That’s just it! As Femaleentrepreneurassociation.com states, “Success is no accident. You have to do it on purpose. You have to intentionally make it happen and you can do it.” Here are a couple of tips on how to overcome loss of motivation.
Ask yourself if the feeling of regret is better than the feeling of possible success.
Lifehack.org suggests using visualization. They state, “Your mind cannot differentiate what is real and what is not. Your mind can only see it, but it cannot tell if it is real. This is what makes visualization such a powerful tool. When you imagine and visualize things in your mind, you will feel motivated to do it. When you dream about the car you want, you will create the motivation from within. Try doing this when you feel like procrastinating and don’t have any motivation.”
Start small but start
If your motivation is completely deteriorated, start small. Lifehack has more suggestions in regards to this topic. For example, they state, “When your motivation is gone; start small. Just like if you have no motivation to call your customers, try to start small and call only a few. You want to build up the momentum from there. Once you start to take action, the motivation will come and you will be able to continue to do more. Do the baby steps and gradually increase from there on.”
Learn how to talk to yourself
Yes, how crazy does that sound right? Often times, the way our thoughts are formed automatically doom us for negative feelings. Sorry for all the clichés but turn the negatives into a positive and I guarantee a change. Talentdevelop.com weighs in, “I am not smart enough,” can be ‘turned around’ by writing, “I have all the knowledge I need. What I don’t know I can learn. I can get other people to help me and leverage their abilities to help me.”
Training your mind adequately will help boost your motivation.
