Great speeches and quotes can inspire people to accomplish their goals. Football coaches and military officers are famous for using speeches to get their charges ready to take on the enemy. After working with entrepreneurs for the better part of a decade, I find that entrepreneurs have a pent-up energy that is just waiting to be released. That is why I carry with me a list of inspirational quotes that help to unleash that energy and fire up the entrepreneurial spirit.

Failure defeats losers; failure inspires winners.”

Robert Kiyosaki has sold millions of books on the topics of entrepreneurship and investing, so he is bound to have some good quotes out there. I like this one because it gives failure the appearance of a double-edged sword, which it really is. This quote should remind all entrepreneurs to be very careful about how they handle failure. It literally can make you or break you.

Be fearful when others are greedy. Be greedy when others are fearful.”

I simply could not do this kind of article without referring to the great Warren Buffett at least once. When it comes to finding opportunity, very few people in the world are more successful than Warren Buffett, and this quote gives us just a glimpse into the truly ruthless mindset that really goes into being a successful entrepreneur.

I find out what the world needs, then I proceed to invent.”

This could be my favorite entrepreneurial quote of all time, and it comes from none other than Thomas Edison. If you are an entrepreneur who feels as though your idea fits a need that people have, then Thomas Edison tells you to go for it. Instead of trying to force your ideas on the rest of the world, you should find out what the world needs and base your efforts on filling that need.

Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.”

Many people do not realize just how versatile and active Mark Twain was in his lifetime. Twain was a writer, a businessman, and a world traveler, and he was very active in politics. If you ever needed permission to go for it from an expert on the subject, then you just got it from Mark Twain. Few celebrities grabbed life by the reins more than Twain, and it was often said that he never regretted anything he ever did.

The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer.”

Nolan Bushnell founded Atari and launched the entire video game industry. So this is a guy who knows a thing or two about being an entrepreneur. In most cases, entrepreneurs are driven by the strength of their dreams, and that is just fine. But as Bushnell reminds us, a successful entrepreneur puts those dreams into action. Later in his life, Bushnell went ahead and changed the world again when he created the concept of the Chuck E. Cheese restaurants. If you need more than a quote from the creator of video games and the child birthday industry to get motivated, then you probably do not have the entrepreneurial spirit that you thought you had.

Entrepreneur success stories are usually accompanied by meaningful quotes that are designed to inspire others. Instead of ignoring good advice from those who succeeded before you, it is a better idea to use these quotes to get you excited about success.
