I spend most of my time with tech-savvy entrepreneurs as well as people who are still learning the ropes when it comes to the latest technology. If there is one thing I have learned, it is that technology is incredibly addicting. Once an entrepreneur starts to see what the latest devices can do to make their lives easier, they instantly want more. It doesn’t take long to turn a novice into a geek, especially when there is revenue involved. Here are just some of the newest toys that entrepreneurs turned “techies” are all waiting impatiently to get their hands on this year.

Sony’s DSC-QX10 Smartphone Camera

Sony and other technology companies have been offering camera lens attachments for smartphones for a while, but the DSC-QX10 takes everything to a new level. It has a 10x optical zoom, which creates images clearer than anything you could get with your phone. It is also able to fit in the palm of your hand, which makes it convenient to use and easy to carry, and it can be disconnected from the phone for use in hard-to-reach spots.

Edison Mini Computer

We know that computers keep getting smaller, but Intel has something that is just ridiculous. The Edison mini computer by Intel is the size of one of those SD storage cards you put in your phone, but it has the computing capacity to have multiple operating systems running at the same time. It would not take long for an entrepreneur to find a use for something the size of a postage stamp that is more powerful than the average laptop computer.

Smart Lock

The Smart Lock is a product made by a technology company called Goji, and it can really enhance your office security. Whenever someone tries to open the Smart Lock, it takes a picture of that person and emails the picture to you. This would allow you to keep a close eye on your office around the clock and prevent anyone from getting into your office who you would rather keep out.

Rear Mobile Keyboard

Stay with me on this one because it is a little complicated. You know how it can be a pain to find a good place to use an external keyboard that you attach to a tablet or any other mobile computing device? Well, TREWGrip LLC has developed the Rear Mobile Keyboard, and I expect this little gadget to be popular. The keys are on the opposite side of the keyboard, and you stabilize the keyboard using your thumbs. That means that you can walk along and still use your external keyboard without the need for a table or a place to sit.

Smart Slow Cooker

Belkin has developed a slow cooker called the Smart Slow Cooker that can be controlled remotely through an app on your smartphone. Sound crazy and useless? Imagine that you could start dinner in the middle of the afternoon, while you’re still at the office, and have it perfectly cooked in your Smart Slow Cooker by the time you get home from work. Anything that allows for the creation of a home-cooked meal during the week is a device that busy entrepreneurs will clamor for.

DJI S1000 Aerial Photography Drone

DJI Innovations is releasing the S1000 aerial photography drone that will allow you to take overhead pictures using a professional DSLR camera for up to 15 minutes. The drone works alongside the Lightbridge video downlink system, which can stream HD video in real time.

Tech-savvy entrepreneurs and those new to technology cannot seem to get enough of the latest toys. But when you start to see what these toys can do for your business and personal lives, then you might also be inspired to take a closer look.
